Meet Brody!
Brody found his way to the shelter a couple weeks ago. He was really underfed, but a really shy dog. He was super forgiving after a little while to warm up. Mandy, a 1L, found this poor puppy at the shelter, and knew something needed to be done. After posting it on facebook and word of mouth, Brody found a forever home in West Virginia with a really loving family. Brody even has kids to play with everyday. Brody definitely found his "happy tale."

Meet Charmin!
Meet Charmin!
Charmin was brought to the shelter, and he was a Yorkie/Poodle mix. His time was getting really short. He needed to be groomed--he needed to be loved. A 1L named Mandy saw this dog, and could not bear the thought of him being put down. Ironically, that day, a 3L Tara saw Brittani, and told her about the fate of the dog at the shelter. Ironically Brittani's mother was looking for a Yorkie/Poodle mix, and Charmin was a perfect fit! Charmin enjoys his days in Ohio wearing his sweater jackets, and playing with his new "doggie siblings." Charmin has found his forever home and his second chance :).
Meet Missy!
Meet Missy!
Meet Missy! Missy is Obie's mom. Missy was at the shelter, and her time was up after an unsuccessful adoption fair. 3L Kelly Johnson took her in as a foster, and then Leah (1L) was able to place her with her forever home in North Carolina where she enjoys being a family pet. Missy is a sweet girl, and we're happy she found her purr-fect home!
Meet Tux!
Meet Tux!
Tux is a cat that was originally fostered with Missy with Kelly, a 3L, when their time was almost up at the shelter. Tux is a pretty mellow cat that Kelly fell in love with. She is definitely a nice quiet roommate and loves to play. She's also pretty stylish being a Tuxedo cat :).
Meet Huggins!
Meet Huggins!
Huggins was adopted by 1L Mandy. He is a Golden Retriever/Lab mix and he was dropped off at the shelter with his littermate sister. He was originally fostered by 2L Brooke, and brought to the Adoption Fair later that week. Mandy who was asking about kittens came home with a cute little cuddle bug named Huggins. Huggins is full of energy and love, and everyone enjoys playing with him. He found his forever home with Mandy :).
Meet Bagheera!
Meet Bagheera!
Bagheera (or "Baggie" as he is affectionately called) made his way to the shelter with his litter mates this fall. They were just about 2 weeks old and super small. Leah took in the litter of kittens. She fed them and made them strong. Most of his littermates made their way to a rescue in Bluefield, WV, however, Leah held onto "Baby Baggie." Baggie now is hanging out with his foster mom, Leah, and he will eventually have a forever home in North Carolina!
Meet Reef!
Meet Reef!
Reef is a male Australian Shepherd puppy that found his way to the animal shelter in late Fall. He was still very much a puppy, and was scared at the animal shelter. A lot of people were talking about Reef, and how cool he was. Everyone loved to play with him. A 1L named John decided to adopt him, so he could be his forever friend. Reef now enjoys spending time with Leah's cats and her other dog, and just being a typical puppy! He has found his happy "tale."
Meet Obie!
Meet Obie!
Obie came to the shelter with Maya in September as well. He was kinda a reserved boy, on the older side of his kittenhood, and was still with his mom, Missy. There was another cat Sesame aka "Tux" who was also with them. Obie was quite playful and just a sweet kitten. You could tell in his eyes he just longed to play outside. However, at the Adoption Fair no one decided to adopt him. He was told his days at the shelter were numbered, and Leah again decided to take in Obie. Obie found his forever home because of Leah, and now enjoys days on a farm playing with his new family in North Carolina!
Meet Maya!
Meet Maya!
Maya came to the shelter in September. She was a small girl but was quite vocal. Everyone seemed to say there was something about this tri-colored cat. She was at the Adoption Fair this fall, but no one decided to take her home. Her days were numbered the shelter told the kids of ASL CARES, and a 1L Leah found it in her heart to take in this adorable little kitten as a foster at first. Maya is in every sense of the word a unique and individual cat, and she is so full of love. She has found her forever home with Leah.
