Meet Rosie!

Rosie was 1 of 2 tiny puppies to come into the shelter in late February 2011 when it was freezing and snowing outside.  Rosie was fostered by a 1L, Leah, and then transported to her new home in Lake Tillery, North Carolina, when Leah went home for Spring Break at the beginning of March.  Rosie found a forever home with her new best friend, Drew (in the picture above).  We love that our list of success stories is growing so quickly! :)

Meet Bandit!

Meet Bandit!
Meet Bandit! Bandit was found in pretty bad shape, and a law student, Donna, found it in her heart to take Bandit in to foster. It wasn't long before she and her family fell in love with Bandit, and he found his forever home! Bandit now lives in TN.  He is now the middle dog with an older brother - a 9 year old Beagle/Jack Russell mix and a younger brother -a 4 month old German Shepherd.  He gets along great with everyone - including the two cats! He Loves to be under a blanket to sleep.  Anytime anyone sits down with a blanket, he jumps on them and waits for them to let him under or starts to dig.  He sleeps under three blankets with the youngest daughter in the family all night and curls up in the oldest daughter's sweatshirt (while she's wearing it) to nap!  He is very sweet natured, loves everyone, and if you even glance his way his tail wags so hard his whole lower half moves.  His dislocated hip has healed unbelievably well.  Although he favors that leg on occasion and sits a little awkwardly, he runs on it and uses it and it has grown and developed muscle.  He is doing really well and we are so happy to have him!

Meet Brody!

Meet Brody!
Brody found his way to the shelter a couple weeks ago. He was really underfed, but a really shy dog. He was super forgiving after a little while to warm up. Mandy, a 1L, found this poor puppy at the shelter, and knew something needed to be done. After posting it on facebook and word of mouth, Brody found a forever home in West Virginia with a really loving family. Brody even has kids to play with everyday. Brody definitely found his "happy tale."

Meet Charmin!

Meet Charmin!
Charmin was brought to the shelter, and he was a Yorkie/Poodle mix. His time was getting really short. He needed to be groomed--he needed to be loved. A 1L named Mandy saw this dog, and could not bear the thought of him being put down. Ironically, that day, a 3L Tara saw Brittani, and told her about the fate of the dog at the shelter. Ironically Brittani's mother was looking for a Yorkie/Poodle mix, and Charmin was a perfect fit! Charmin enjoys his days in Ohio wearing his sweater jackets, and playing with his new "doggie siblings." Charmin has found his forever home and his second chance :).

Meet Missy!

Meet Missy!
Meet Missy! Missy is Obie's mom. Missy was at the shelter, and her time was up after an unsuccessful adoption fair. 3L Kelly Johnson took her in as a foster, and then Leah (1L) was able to place her with her forever home in North Carolina where she enjoys being a family pet. Missy is a sweet girl, and we're happy she found her purr-fect home!

Meet Tux!

Meet Tux!
Tux is a cat that was originally fostered with Missy with Kelly, a 3L, when their time was almost up at the shelter. Tux is a pretty mellow cat that Kelly fell in love with. She is definitely a nice quiet roommate and loves to play. She's also pretty stylish being a Tuxedo cat :).

Meet Huggins!

Meet Huggins!
Huggins was adopted by 1L Mandy. He is a Golden Retriever/Lab mix and he was dropped off at the shelter with his littermate sister. He was originally fostered by 2L Brooke, and brought to the Adoption Fair later that week. Mandy who was asking about kittens came home with a cute little cuddle bug named Huggins. Huggins is full of energy and love, and everyone enjoys playing with him. He found his forever home with Mandy :).
